Microelectrode array (MEA) technology has matured to become a valuable
electrophysiological tool in basic research and drug discovery. It
enables a wide range of applications including multi-electrode stimu-
lation, recording and analysis of bioelectrical activity of individual
cells and cell ensembles from brain, retina, spinal cord, heart, and
muscle tissue.
We would like to inform you about the 5th International Meeting on
Substrate-Integrated Microelectrode Arrays in Reutlingen in July 2006.
This biannual meetings offer a comprehensive overview of all aspects
related to current MEA applications.
The MEA Meeting is being organized by the NMI, Reutlingen, Germany:
NMI Natural and Medical Sciences Institute at the University of
Tuebingen
Markwiesenstrasse 55, 72770 Reutlingen, Germany
Phone: +49 7121 - 51 530 -0 Fax: +49 7121 - 51 530 16
Email: meameeting@nmi.de
Participation is open to researchers from academic institutions and
industry who are interested in new developments and the broader
application of MEAs in basic and applied science as well as in
industrial drug discovery.
The meeting will begin with an afternoon workshop on Tuesday, July 4,
2006. Oral and poster presentations will be held from Wednesday to
Friday, with the last session ending at noon on Friday. After the MEA
Meeting 2006, participants can conveniently proceed to the 5th Forum
of European Neuroscience in Vienna, Austria.
